Reminder: Upcoming Deadline for Crane Certification Transition

Complete Use of Legacy Model before April 30

In October 2025, NCCER launched a more streamlined crane certification model, designed to make your testing and certification process more efficient and better aligned with specific equipment needs.  

 

The previous model temporarily remained available during a transition period. This legacy model will be fully sunset effective April 30, 2026. After this time, only the new certification model will be available. 

 

If you are still using the legacy program, please ensure that any already-assigned assessments and practical exams are fully completed by April 30. Any incomplete or partially complete certifications using legacy components after this date will expire and no refunds will be issued. 

 

If you have not yet transitioned to the new model and need assistance, please reach out to your Workforce Development representative or contact NCCER Support to discuss the program changes and what it means for you.
