Details About New NCCER Recertification Process 

As we approach the certification expiration deadline for many program personnel, we are beginning to roll out our updated recertification process.

Please be assured that all personnel with 2026 expiration deadlines will receive sufficient time to renew their NCCER Certifications.

Please see the following notes about recertification: 

New Recertification Requirements:

• The following certified personnel roles will be required to complete an NCCER-provided professional development course related to their role to recertify:

  • Instructors
  • Master Trainers
  • Curriculum Performance Evaluators
  • Assessment Performance Evaluators
  • Module Test Proctors
  • Assessment Proctors 
    
    

• These courses will be automatically assigned in the NCCER LMS and there is no cost.

Recertification Deadlines:

• All program personnel in good standing who were certified on or prior to Dec. 31, 2023 have until Dec. 31, 2026 to recertify.
  
  

• Certifications earned after Dec. 31, 2023 expire three years after original certification date.

   

• Practical Examiners do not have a new recertification process at this time, and all current certifications will remain active until further notice.

Anticipated Rollout Timeframe:

• For Instructors, Master Trainers, Performance Evaluators, and Proctors:

  • Expiration date of Dec. 31, 2026: Applicable courses will be assigned by mid-August. 

• • Expiration date after Dec. 31, 2026: Applicable courses will be assigned 3 months prior to expiration. 
    
    
• For Practical Examiners: More details will be shared at a future date. 

NEW: Pipeline Performance Evaluator Role

• We are also launching a new role specific to our Pipeline programs, the Pipeline Performance Evaluator. This role will have a new, separate certification process from the Curriculum Performance Evaluator.
